Fifty Pounds Dry Gin is a premium London Dry Gin, bottled in a beautiful vintage bottle.
In the early 18th century, gin became extremely popular in London and there were numerous moonshine distillers in the lower classes of the population who brought gin of dubious quality to the people. In order to put a stop to this activity, in the year 1736, the government came up with the idea to levy a tax of 50 pounds for each gin distiller. Unfortunately without success, after 6 years only 2 companies had paid this tax. Fifty Pounds Dry Gin is a souvenir of this attempt.
