Although the distillery was opened in 1985, it had to be closed in 1992. In 2011 the dark came back to light and the distillery could produce whisky again.
Due to the revival of the Shinshu Distillery, new releases like this Limited Edition can be launched regularly.
The Komagatake Tsunuki bottling is a Japanese single malt that matures for 3 years in the Tsunuki cellars. The Tsunuki distillery was only opened in 2016.
Ex-Bourbon, Ex-Sherry and Ex-Umeshu barrels are used in the 3-year aging process, 800 meters above sea level.
Tasting notes:
Colour: Light amber.
Nose: Delicate fruity, apple tea, cherries, brown sugar, caramel.
Taste: Full-bodied, fruity, peat smoke, vanilla.
Finish: Long lasting.
