The Welsh distillery Penderyn has now launched the 7th bottling of the "Icons of Wales" whiskey collection. The name "Rhiannon" suggests an 11th-century sorceress and horse goddess.
The Penderyn Rhiannon is a single malt that matures in ex-Olosoro casks and ex-Bourbon casks. The finish takes place in an ex-Bordeaux Grand Cru barrel.
This is a limited bottling.
Taster Note:
Color: bright amber.
Nose: Sweet, spicy, notes of berries, hazelnuts, pears, sultanas, and marzipan, toasted aromas.
Taste: Fruity, creamy, sweet, notes of caramel, figs, berries, chocolate, and coffee.
Finish: Long lasting.
