Master Distiller Billy Walker spends a lot of time in the warehouses of the GlenAllachie distillery - he inspects around 50,000 casks. Not a job for the faint hearted, however it is time well spent as his efforts are rewarded by excellent results. The GlenAllachie Distillery resists the era of mergers and consolidations and continues to focus, as an independent Scottish company, on the important things - creating outstanding whisky and enjoying life. The GlenAllachie CUVÉE CASK FINISH Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky Vintage 2009 was initially matured in American oak casks. Billy Walker then selected a further three cask types of different character - Oloros sherry puncheons, casks made from the wood of the North American Chinquapin oak and barrique casks from the famous Tuscan winery Grattamacco.
