Baron-Fuenté Esprit Brut Champagne
33% Chardonnay, 33% Pinot Noir, 33% Pinot Meunier
An exceptional Champagne which is the product of an elegant and harmonious blend of three vintages. This cuvee is produced from our best riverbank’s vineyards and is often presented like the Cinderella of our range of Champagne and the symbol from the Baron-Fuenté family.
A golden color with a fine complex nose which opens up to smooth dried fruit, straw like, Danish pastry and delicately floral aromas. This full and vinous wine is a delightfully lively and leaves a long finish of pleasant fruit flavors.
L’Esprit Brut makes an elegant aperitif. The style also allies well to food especially with roasted chicken. This precious wine also goes superbly with caviar or sushi.
Creamy in texture, with mouthwatering acidity enlivening rich notes of bread dough, black currant, lemon curd, pastry cream and blanched almonds. Shows fine balance and length.
As with other Champagnes in the producer’s range, this blends three vintages, giving it extra richness and depth of fruit flavor. Its toasty edge suggests it has also been aged in bottle. Attractive and ripe, it’s ready to drink.
Since the 17th century, the Baron family owned a vineyard in Charly-sur-Marne, in the west of the Champagne area. In 1961, Gabriel Baron was gifted 1ha of vineyards by his father, on the occasion of his marriage to Dolores Fuente. As a symbol of this union, Gabriel and Dolores founded Baron-Fuente. The first bottles were produced and sold directly from their house. By 1992, they had grown their vineyard holdings to 13 ha, and added a daughter and a son to their family - Sophie and Ignace. Today, Baron-Fuente owns 38 ha of vineyards, and the house is managed by Ignace and Sophie. All of their bottles are stored on slats for a period of between 3 and 7 years before they are disgorged, bringing the deep and varied aromas to each of the cuvees.
