Don Papa, one of the lesser known heroes of the Philippine Revolution. A foreman on a sugar cane plantation, he joined the fight for his country's independence. He became the leader of his countrymen in driving the conquerors from his beloved land. Don Papa was from the island of Negros in the Philippine archipelago. Ferdinand Magellan, a navigator, discovered the Philippines for the Europeans 500 years ago. A Column Still matures for 2 years in ex-bourbon barrels and then another 5 years in ex-port wine barrels. The entire maturation period takes place near the volcano Mount Kanlaon. Tasting notes:Color: Mahogany. Nose: Intense, notes of licorice, oak, dark chocolate. Taste: Delicate, rich, sweet, notes of muscovado sugar, blood oranges, toasted oak, cinnamon, Arabica coffee, caramel, vanilla, ripe fruit, brown sugar.
