Leo Hillinger took over the winery from his father in 1990. Since the handover he has constantly developed his business. Today the Hillinger wine is internationally known. Since the year 2010 Hillinger pursues organic viticulture. This wine is fermented to 90% in stainless steel tanks and the remaining 10% matures in used barrique barrels.Tasting notes:Ruby red in the glass. The aroma reminds of dark berries and chocolate. On the palate it is full-bodied, harmonious and fruity with berries and sour cherries. Long lasting finish. Grape variety: 50% Merlot, 25% St. Laurent and 25% Pinot Noir. Vinification: Classic in steel tanks and 10% used barrique. Residual sugar: 5.1 g/l. Acidity: 4.9 g/l (biological acid reduction in steel). Storage potential: 3 years. Serving temperature: 14 °C. This wine goes very well with mild cheese and white meat.
