The history of the Hyde family began in 1640 when two brothers opened the "Tinker Cross" restaurant in West Cork, Ireland. Here they served original Irish whiskey and stout tapped directly from oak casks. After 10 generations, not much has changed - two brothers still care for traditional, fine Irish whiskeys. The only difference? Alan and Conor are the first generation to do all this without the family pub. The Hyde No.9 Port Cask 1906 Single Malt Irish Whiskey matures for 8 years and is made from Irish barley. This whiskey is triple distilled and matures in Bourbon Cask. The finsih is done in Tawny Port Casks.Tasting notes:Colour: dark amber. Nose: Dried fruit, cinnamon, nutmeg, raisins. Taste: Green apples, citrus fruits, dried fruits, spices, pepper, hazelnuts.
