Sweden originally had no tradition in whisky production - but this changed in 1999 with the founding of the Mackmyra distillery. Special emphasis is placed on the exclusive use of Swedish products. Due to the perfect geographical location, the distillery has constant access to crystal clear, purest water. The barley used gets a special sweetness due to the long summer days and is one of the cornerstones of Mackmyra whiskies. The storage takes place mainly in Swedish oak barrels, which give off a more intensive taste than American oak barrels due to the harsh climate.Tasting notes:Colour: Gold with nuances of amber. Nose: fruity, sweet, citrus, pears, apples, honey, hints of toast, toffee. Taste: Spicy, notes of sandalwood, dried ginger, black pepper, fine herbal flavour. Finish: Long lasting, hints of oak.
