Mont-Pérat Red 2016 12% Vol. 0,75L

The 2016 Mont-Perat, owned by the Despagne Family, may well be the best I have tasted. It was very closed on the nose compared to the more outgoing Girolate. The palate is medium-bodied with blackberry, bilberry and cedar. Masculine in style, structured and a little firm, but I appreciate the balance and freshness plus the persistence on the finish. This is worth seeking out.
