Poeira 44 Barricas Tinto 2015

The 2015 Tinto, the estate flagship with just "Poeira" on the label, is a 55/30 blend of a field blend from old vines and Touriga Nacional, plus 15% combined of Touriga Franca and Sousão, aged for 16 months in 70% used French oak. It comes in at 14% alcohol. Like so many 2015s, this shows off its lifted fruit and vivid flavors. It adds velvety texture and a little more concentration to the 2016 Pó reviewed this issue, but it is remarkably elegant and understated. This is very approachable, but it should age well too, perhaps better than indicated. Will it develop more complexity? It should—and we will see. It is worth leaning up for the moment.
