Poggio San Polo Podernovi Brunello di Montalcino

Ruby red color not excessively deep, with light garnet reflections. On the nose, floral aromas of violet, cyclamen, and jasmine, notes of fresh fruit and spicy hints. In the mouth, it is well balanced, with a good structure and acidity as well as very smooth tannins, showing overall an excellent persistence.

Crafted with Sangiovese grapes coming from the homonymous vineyard, among the most beautiful and representatives of Montalcino, Podernovi is an energetic, elegant, and deep Brunello.

95 Points, Bruce Sanderson, Wine Spectator: "Lush and fruity, featuring plum, cherry, strawberry, and iron aromas and flavors. Bright acidity and dense tannins form the structure as this plays out on the long finish. The excellent youthful balance shows promise for the future. Best from 2023 through 2040. Eight hundred cases made.

The concept underpinning San Polo: to maximize the intrinsic potential of the terroir, make the quest for quality a priority and create an ethical and responsible context where man's labors and the natural environment are integrated into a harmonious and constructive whole.

The singular beauty of the landscape around San Polo could not be marred by the construction of buildings that would compromise its natural harmony. In this sense, Cellarllar is ultra-modern - albeit in an area steeped in history and tradition - functional to our production objectives and faithfully reflects our identity and our uniqueness. Because of the innovative techniques used to build it, it intelligently exploits the abundant natural resources that the earth has to offer. Built entirely underground, it enjoys perfect temperature stability: the underground tunnels cool the air before channeling it into Cellarllar; the curved shape of the ceilings directs the warm air towards the sides of the rooms where it is expelled via overhead flues; an underground spring also serves to cool the environment further, and the porous stone cladding in the aging cellar regulates the accumulation and release of humidity.
