The Maison Ruinart was founded in 1729 as the first champagne house ever. The creation is due to the intuition of a monk, Dom Thierry Ruinart (1657-1709) who was far ahead of his time. The Chardonnay grape variety is fundamental to Maison Ruinart. The grapes come mainly from the Côte des Blancs and the Montagne de Reims. Tasting notes:"R" de Ruinart is the epitome of freshness and balance. Its proportions: 40% Chardonnay and 60% Pinot Noir. Its image is yellow, with golden shimmer and crystal brilliance. Its bouquet fine and fruity, with aromas of white-fleshed pear and dried fruits such as walnut and almond, followed by notes of white flowers, yeast pastry and buttered brioche. On the palate, its freshness dominates. It harmoniously combines tactile roundness and persistent length. Grape varieties: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier.
