The Slyrs single malt whisky comes from the Upper Bavarian distillery at Schliersee. The name "Slyrs" is a pseudo-Gaelic corruption of "Schliersee". The distillery was founded in 1999 by Florian Stettner and is located directly on the shores of Schliersee. Slyrs Mountain Edition takes its name from the Rotwand, which is the highest peak in the Spitzingsee area. At an altitude of 1501 meters, this single malt matures in the purest mountain air as well as at extreme temperature fluctuations of up to 60°C. Distilled in the valley... ...matured on the mountain.
