The Slyrs single malt whisky comes from the Upper Bavarian distillery at Schliersee. The name "Slyrs" is a pseudo-Gaelic corruption of "Schliersee". The distillery was founded in 1999 by Florian Stettner and is located directly on the shores of Schliersee. After traditional storage, the whiskey matures for at least another 9 months in specially selected beer barrels that previously held IPA beers with intense hoppy flavors. A wonderful assemblage of aromatics in aroma and flavor, through the spice of the Indian Pale Ales and the Slyrs Single Malt. Rare and exclusive, a Distillers edition with pure Oktoberfest character. In this sense: "O'zapft is!" Tasting notes:Color: Rich gold. Nose: Hay, spicy forest honey, wild meadows. Taste: Soft, malty, sweet ripe fruit, hops, notes of caramel. Finish: Long lasting, hints of herbs.
