The company S. Spitz was founded in 1857 by Salomon Spitz in Linz. In 1935 the production site was moved from Linz to Attnang-Puchheim. The company changed its owner after the Second World War and constantly expanded its product range. The distribution of spirits and fruit juices is extended to the whole of Austria. In 2007 the company celebrates its 150th anniversary. Since the new European Spirits Regulation (EC) 110/2008 came into force in 2008, the traditional Spitz Schankrum 22,5 % vol. history. Spitz had to say goodbye to the original Spitz Schankrum with a heavy heart. This farewell was also the birth of the Spitz Doppelschankrum - the original times two. With 45 % vol. the Spitz Doppelschankrum has not only double the alcohol content, but also double the aroma. One litre of Doppelschank Rum 45% vol. thus produces two litres of Schankrum Original.
