Agwa DIABLO Botanical Coca Leaf Liqueur is mainly made from the coca plant. A total of 37 different herbs such as guarana, bitter orange and red galanga are used. The leaves are harvested at an altitude of 2,000 metres in the Andes and then transported to Amsterdam. In Amsterdam the maceration is followed by distillation. During this process the leaves lose the cocaine they contain. The producers were inspired by one of the most famous festivals in South America, the Carnaval De Oruro. The festival takes place in Bolivia and is an extravagant and spectacular celebration. Besides elaborate costumes and a lot of music, there is also a lot of emphasis on traditional folk dances, such as the Dance De Diablos (Dance of the Devils). So "Diablo" does not stand for sharp taste, but for the folk dance Dance De Diablos.
