Unofficially, the Ardbeg distillery has been distilling since 1794 - in 1815, the distillery was purchased by John McDougall and officially opened under the name Ardbeg. "Ardbeg" comes from the Gaelic and translated means something like "small hill". The distillery is located on the south coast of the Islay whisky region. Dr. Bill Lumsden, Director of Distilling, presents the new permanent bottling of Ardbeg. A small batch that is released annually. Ardbeg TRAIGHT BHAN Batch No. 4 is a 19 year old whisky as well as the latest bottling of the excellent Ardbeg series, which was matured for the most part in oloroso sherry casks. This whiskey was bottled at full moon, which makes it convincing with its intense and aromatic flavor. Tasting notes:Color: gold. Nose: aromas of pine, fennel, notes of lime sorbet, eucalyptus, hazelnuts, vanilla notes. Palate: Chocolate, wood notes, coffee, peanuts, creamy raisin fudge, hazelnut, fresh lemongrass, herbal aromas. Finish: Long lasting, sharp, intense.
