Hardly a soul is known that rum is distilled on the dreamlike Caribbean holiday island Antigua. Already since the 1930s, the Antigua Distillery has been one of the rum hotspots on the island surrounded by coral reefs. The immediate proximity to the sea has an effect on the raw materials and of course on the rum production. This English Harbour Rum matures for 5 years in former Bourbon barrels made of American white oak and gets a finish in Spanish Oloroso sherry barrels afterwards.
