The Highland Park distillery was founded by Magnus Eunson in 1798. Today The Edrington Group is the owner of the distillery. It is the northernmost whisky distillery in Scotland and is located in Kirkwall on the Orkney Island mainland. The distillery buildings of Highland Park are listed in the Scottish Heritage Lists and produce around 2.5 million litres of whisky annually. This 16-year-old whisky was aged in former Rioja wine casks as well as in former Bourbon casks. This is a new combination of first filling which has never been seen before in Highland Park! The bottle was designed by a famous Danish tattoo artist named Colin Dale. Dale does not tattoo motifs electrically, but according to an ancient art of dotwork.Tasting notes:Colour: Rich gold with mahogany accents. Nose: Cedar wood, vanilla, heather peat, peaches.
