Knockando distillery is located in a village of the same name in Moray, Scotland. It was founded by John Thompson in 1898 on the banks of the River Spey. The origin has Knockando from the Gaelic "Cnoc-an-Dhu", this means "small black hill".
Today, the distillery belongs to Diageo, a company that operates worldwide and produces alcoholic beverages.
Knockando 15 Years Old is aged in sherry and refilled bourbon casks, which are made from European oak. The distillery notes on each bottle the age, as well as the indication of the distillation year.
