At the northern end of Loch Lomond near Tarbet, the first site of the Loch Lomond Distillery was established in 1814. The current distillery was founded in 1965 by the former owners of the Littlemill Distillery a few miles from Glasgow.
The responsibility at the distillery lies with Master Blender Michael Henry. Michael grew up next to two distilleries and thus developed a passion for distilling and brewing whisky at an early age. He has been the Master Blender at Loch Lomond Distillery since 2014.
Loch Lomond Distillery has entered into a partnership with "The Open". "The Open" is the premier international golf championship with qualifying events on five continents, also known as "The One."
This bottling is a tribute to the championship, which is in its 150th year. The championship is held at the world-famous "Home of Gold," the Old Course at St. Andrews.
The whiskey matures in American oak casks for 10 years.
