The first milestone in the creation of the Macallan AERA Royal Black was the selection of the highest quality American and European oak. The precious oak is transported from the forests of the USA and northern Spain to Jerez in southern Spain, where it is naturally dried for four years. Maturation in sherry casks is the cornerstone of The Macallan Single Malts; their reputation is a testament to the exceptional quality of the casks.
