Becherovka is the unique, mysterious bitter from the Czech Carlsbad. Initially sold in pharmacies as a stomach bitter, its medicinal properties are still being discussed today thanks to the more than 20 types of medicinal plants it contains. The 13th spring, as Becherovka is called in Karlovy Vary in reference to the 12 medicinal water springs of the spa town, is still produced according to the original recipe. The composition of the herbs is secret and only two people know the exact recipe. But this much is certain: only medicinal plant extracts and original Karlovy Vary water are used.Tasting notes:Becherovka is mainly served as an aperitif or digestif. But also as a long drink, e.g. with tonic, grapefruit juice or soda, it is gaining more and more fans.
