This 13-year-old Lagavulin single malt was released exclusively for Feis Ile 2021, the annual festival celebrating the whisky and culture of Islay. The whisky matured in refill American oak casks and was finished in port-seasoned American oak. It was bottled in 2021 at a cask strength of 56.1%. The Lagavulin distillery on Islay was founded in 1816 by John Johnston. In 1825, John Johnston bought the adjacent Ardmore distillery (not to be confused with the Highland distillery of the same name). A couple of years later, the two distilleries merged to form the Lagavulin distillery we know today. The distillery became part of Distillers Company Limited in 1927, now known as Diageo. Only 6000 bottles of Lagavulin 13 Years Old Feis Ile 2021 have been released.
