Lagavulin 16 Years Old Feis Ile 2017 is a limited-edition Lagavulin single malt, bottled for the Feis Ile whisky festival of 2017. The whisky was double matured in casks that previously held Moscatel wine. It was bottled in 2017 at a cask strength of 56.1%. The Lagavulin distillery on Islay was founded in 1816 by John Johnston. In 1825, John Johnston bought the adjacent Ardmore distillery (not to be confused with the Highland distillery of the same name). A couple of years later, the two distilleries merged to form the Lagavulin distillery we know today. The distillery became part of Distillers Company Limited in 1927, now known as Diageo. Only 6000 bottles of Lagavulin 16 Years Old Feis Ile 2017 have been released.
