The Speyside distillery was officially founded in 1976 by George Christie.
After that the distillery changed hands a few times, when Harveys of Edinburgh took over the distillery he changed the name of their single malts to 'Spey'.
It is aged in ex-bourbon casks before receiving its finish in tawny port casks. The maturation of at least eight years makes it a sweet and fruity whisky.
