The Tomintoul distillery is located in the Scottish Highlands in the Cairngorms National Park. Tomintoul was named after the village of Tomintoul, which is located near the distillery. The whiskey distillery was opened in 1964 and is now in the hands of Angus Dundee Distillers. The Cairngorms are some of the few places outside the Arctic that have tundra areas. Sub-zero temperatures, as well as cold and windy winters, result in unique wild flowers and wildlife thriving in this landscape during the summer. It is in this environment that Tomintoul TUNDRA is produced. Maturation takes place in American oak bourbon barrels. Tasting notes:Color: Bright amber. Nose: Intense, balanced, elegant, notes of oak.
